Terms of Service

Last updated: October 11, 2026 (draft -- not yet reviewed by counsel) 1. Agreement to Terms By creating an account or using Sorted Board, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Sorted Board. 2. What Sorted Board Is Sorted Board is a marketplace that connects buyers looking for creative services (such as photography) with independent professionals who offer them. Sorted Board is not a party to the service agreement between a buyer and a professional -- we provide the platform, booking tools, messaging, and payment processing that let the two of you work together. 3. Accounts You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. 4. Payments and Fees Payments made through Sorted Board are processed by Stripe. When you pay for a booking found through Sorted Board, funds are held until the agreed milestones are met, then released to the professional (section 7 describes when a payout is not released, or is taken back), minus any Sorted Board commission and any card-processing fee that applies to the booking. A payment for a booking that a professional creates for their own client is not held: it is sent to the professional's Stripe account when it is paid, minus the card-processing fee, and its release does not depend on milestones. Sorted Board is not responsible for the services on a professional's own-client booking; a refund or a dispute about one is between the professional and their client. An amount refunded to the client is recovered from the professional. If the client disputes a card payment with their bank, the disputed amount is recovered from the professional: when the dispute is opened if the full gallery has not been delivered, and otherwise only if the bank decides the dispute for the client. On a booking found through Sorted Board that carries our commission, Sorted Board covers the card-processing cost. On a booking with no commission (a professional's own client, or a booking made while a commission waiver is active), the card-processing fee charged for that payment is deducted from the professional's payout. The fee in effect when a booking is made applies to that booking, and the exact amount is shown to the professional on the booking. Professionals connect a Stripe account to receive payouts; Sorted Board never collects or stores your bank account or card details directly -- that information lives with Stripe. A professional's own client list, added directly rather than found through Sorted Board search, is not subject to our commission, only the card-processing fee described above. A buyer who first found a professional through Sorted Board is a client we introduced: a booking between them that is paid through Sorted Board, including one the professional creates with a payment link, is priced as a booking found through Sorted Board. 5. Professional Responsibilities If you offer services through Sorted Board, you agree to deliver what you commit to, communicate honestly about availability and pricing, and comply with any licensing or insurance requirements that apply to your work in your area. 6. Buyer Responsibilities If you book a service through Sorted Board, you agree to provide accurate details about your booking, communicate in good faith, and pay for services you've agreed to. 7. Cancellations, Refunds and Remedies Cancellation terms are set by each professional and shown before you book. Disputes about a specific booking should first be raised with the other party through Sorted Board messaging; unresolved disputes can be escalated to Sorted Board support. Card-processing fees are not returned by the payment processor when a payment is refunded. Where a refunded booking carried no Sorted Board commission, the card-processing fee for the original payment remains the professional's cost. Sneak peek remedy. This applies to a photography booking found through Sorted Board, including one a professional creates with a payment link for a client we introduced. It does not apply to a professional's own client: Sorted Board offers no reshoot, replacement or refund on those bookings, and any remedy is for the professional and their client to agree between themselves. If a buyer is not satisfied with the sneak peek, the buyer may tell Sorted Board within 48 hours after it is sent. A buyer who does not is treated as having accepted it. Sorted Board reviews each request. Where we go ahead, one remedy is given, in this order: (a) a free reshoot by the same professional, who has 24 hours to answer and may decline if not available; (b) a replacement professional, chosen by the buyer from those we offer, at no extra cost to the buyer; (c) a refund of everything the buyer paid for the booking, if we cannot offer a replacement within 24 hours or the buyer does not accept those offered. If a replacement session costs less than the original booking, the buyer is not owed the difference. The reshoot or the replacement session is the final session for the booking, and the remedy cannot be used on it. The remedy is given once to a buyer; a later request from a buyer who has used it is decided by Sorted Board case by case. For the professional whose sneak peek was not accepted: you keep the first half of your payout, released when you sent the sneak peek, whichever remedy is given. If you decline the reshoot or do not answer in time, the second half is not paid and you have nothing more to deliver on the booking. If you do the reshoot, the second half is paid as usual once you deliver its gallery. Failure to deliver. If a professional does not attend a session without having agreed a new date with the buyer, delivers no real photographs of it, or photographs a different session from the one booked, the buyer is refunded everything paid for the booking, the professional is not paid for it, and any payout already released for it is taken back from the professional. Replacement sessions. A professional who has told us they take short-notice replacement sessions may be offered one. Before the professional accepts, we say that it is a replacement session and what it pays. Where it is offered for a fixed fee, no Sorted Board commission or card-processing fee is taken from that fee. A professional is free to decline any such offer. 8. Content Photos, videos, and other content you upload remain yours. By posting content to Sorted Board, you grant us a license to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace (e.g. showing a professional's portfolio to prospective buyers). 9. Bookings Made Through Sorted Board, and Prohibited Conduct A booking requested through Sorted Board is paid through Sorted Board. You agree not to move the payment for that booking outside the platform to avoid our commission. This applies to that booking only: if the same buyer and professional later arrange a new booking directly with each other, outside Sorted Board, these terms do not prohibit it and no Sorted Board commission applies to it. A booking arranged outside Sorted Board is not covered by the payment handling, booking tools or support described in these terms. You also agree not to harass or misrepresent yourself to other users, or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. 10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability Sorted Board provides the platform "as is." We do our best to verify professionals and facilitate good outcomes, but we don't guarantee the quality of any service booked through the platform. Section 7 sets out the remedies we offer when a buyer is not satisfied with a sneak peek or a professional fails to deliver. To the extent permitted by law, Sorted Board's liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. 11. Termination You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. 12. Changes to These Terms We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect, and continued use of Sorted Board after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. 13.
